It’s different from standard video gaming in that esports is human-vs-human and usually has an engaging spectator element to it, just like traditional sports.
Every country has its own levels of governance and support, in some countries esports is also classified as a sport and many countries have national esports federations who support national team competition, some also run schools competitions already, others don’t yet and EGAMES can support to establish these competitions.
The game publishers/developers and tournament organisers set the rules, and are responsible for ensuring integrity and handing out penalties where necessary.
